I found interesting the debate ,the discussion of knowing if ripping is legal or not because it is a delicate subject.
I also liked when people gave the name of one site as an example of generosity because I learnt a few good and interesting sites

During the last two weeks, I learned the existence of few new technologies like Tivo that I think is a real great cration and it will work, it's sure!
I learned how to create a blog and it is not complicated at all.
And I learned how google worked , how it exists even if it is free.

Ripping: legal? ethical?

I think that the fact of ripping became something usual and we forget that we can have problems doing it. There are a lot of people who use this issue. It is free, and easy but I understand that it can be bad for companies. So it is not legal but it is a banality. People do it for their own needs but some of them sell what they rip and that is not good because they work on a market they are not allowed to work on. It is ok if you rip for yourself.We can just add that it is difficult to stop when you know you can rip everything you want.

Monetize an internet model means that you think it is free but it is not. Like advertising on podcast, everytime you download it, you pay for it.

How many times you go on a site like "figaro.fr" because you need some information and you just want one page or one subject and not all the newspaper. It is free or of course you can bye some of them but it is very easy and simple.

Ripping is converting in some other audio format like CD audio to MP3. A lot of people download some music or videos on their computer and keep it for their own service but some of them sell it and it is not legal. You have no right to download like one thousand files because it is bad for trade. You also can rip from a cd that somebody lent to you. It became something usual, common and banal, people bye less cds than before because they can have just one song of a cd and they don't need to bye a full cd.

If you find some cds for cats ,( it is a lateste fashion for pets!), this will be a long tail marketing strategy because it is very rare and there are not a lot of these cds.

It is the time people are in front of their tlevision, often the time they eat are they are sitting on their sofa during digestion!
